# Unity

UPL holds faith in the inherent unity of all existence, viewing the universe as a manifestation of divine light and consciousness.

Many traditions have looked towards this one source and named it in their own way. The Chandogya Upanishad teaches, "That thou art." Islam affirms Tawhid, the oneness of God, and the Qur'an speaks of God as the light of the heavens and the earth. Jesus tells those who follow him, "You are the light of the world." The Sikh Gurus teach that the one Light is within all. Seicho-No-Ie teaches that only the perfect world created by God truly exists.

These are not one teaching in different words. Each tradition understands the source in its own way, and UPL honours each as a view of the singular, ultimate source behind the myriad expressions of divinity.
