As technology matures, guided by ethics, it can help us towards enlightenment and help us to be better human beings: to share knowledge, to improve our medicines and our health, and to raise the quality of life. It has also done harm: industry has damaged the Earth, and industrialised goods have harmed the body. We are learning from these mistakes, and have begun to correct them, as our knowledge of our own impact on the planet and on ourselves improves. UPL holds the hope that through the continuous study and improvement of these fields we may in time transform the Earth into a paradise, a place without misery, hunger or disease.
